Ester Chow

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has announced the appointment of Ester Chow as a partner in its Financial Markets practice, based in Hong Kong, effective 18 August 2025.

Bringing over 13 years’ experience in banking and finance legal expertise, Chow’s arrival will bolster Simmons’ lender-side banking practice in Asia. She will focus on complex lending structures, including private credit lending and fund finance, bringing deep expertise in cross-border financings, subscription lines, NAV facilities, LP financing, acquisition finance.

Chow has a strong track record representing major lenders and borrowers, and has a particular focus on bespoke lending structures and credit support packages.

The appointment reflects Simmons & Simmons’ strategic commitment to strengthening its banking and finance capabilities in Hong Kong, a key financial hub in the Asia-Pacific ( APAC ) region. Hong Kong’s position as a gateway to mainland China, its role as a global financial centre, and its prominence in private credit and fund finance markets make it a critical jurisdiction for the firm’s growth strategy.
